Frequently asked questions
What is the ATC
The ATC or Air Cadets is a uniformed youth organisation under the guidance of the Royal Air Force. Formed in 1941 its main ambition was to train young men in all aspects of aviation, so that when they were old enough to join the RAF, it would take less time to train them for war duties. With few variations the aim of the ATC is basically the same today, but with more emphasis on adventure training as there is on flying and is now open to females as well. The joining age is 13 years.
