I started working in Audiology a long time ago. Today I find it as fascinating a science as when I first started out. There are many web sites around which describe almost all you might need to know about the modern science of Audiology; most are far more complete than I could manage, so I don't think I can add anything to what is already there.
I have a particular interest in Comparative Physiology and the Evolution of the Auditory and Vestibular Mechanisms, and these subjects are less well covered. This section then will look at how we came to have the ears we have, how they (might) have evolved, and other auditory mechanisms that have developed in the animal kingdom.

Over the last few years (okay, over more years than I care to remember) I have done lots of cycling in all areas of the U.K. Work has brought me to rest in the North Chilterns, one of the best areas in the country for cycling. Cycling is my principal form of transport, it's my leisure, and my relaxation.
Should you want to know more about me, or if you want to e-mail me, then see the 'About Derek' page. There are links to most of the topics I cover on - surprise - the Links page
Each time I update this site, I check with W3C to ensure that the code meets the requirements for valid HTML. This means that it should always look the same whatever browser you use.
Having said that, I would recommend that you use one of the browsers from Mozilla for all your internet browsing. Why? Because Mozilla works the way browsers are supposed to work. Internet Explorer is so full of security holes, you're asking for trouble if you continue using it. As of 25/01/2005 15% of visitors to this site use a Mozilla browser. Join them! If you want a single programme to handle Browsing, E-Mail, Newsgroups and Internet Relay Chat, then use the full Mozilla programme. For a stand-alone browser, use Firefox. Stand-alone e-mail and news is served by Thunderbird. If you want a pared-to-the-bone browser for the Macintosh, try Camino.
Whatever your internet requirements, Mozilla is your best option
