Is
Christmas the season to be jolly? Or do you want to hibernate until
it's over? Is Christmas only about "Santa", tinsel, decorations,
presents, overeating, partying or getting presents? What is this
Christmas time all about?
Christmas is about getting
presents or at least one
present.
The greatest gift that anyone could ever hope to receive. God gave us a
very special gift about 2,000 years ago when He showed us how much He
loves us by sending His son, Jesus, into the world as a baby, born in a
stable in Bethlehem in Judea.
You'll find the story of His birth in the Bible in
Luke
chapter 2.
This isn't
just a nice story to be acted out every year in nativity plays in
schools and churches. This baby grew up to be a man and after 3 years
of ministry was crucified.
The story of Jesus' death in Luke Chapter 23
from verse 26.
The greatest thing about this story is the fact
that this was not the end because Jesus did not stay dead. He rose from
the grave and is alive. This means that if we believe
in Him we can have eternal life too because, just as Jesus rose from
the dead, we who believe in him will rise too. Read
Luke Chapter 24.
