My hives are on conservation land near Wanlip, next to the river soar. There are plenty of willows for a good early supply of pollen and a wide variety of wild flowers throughout the season. In particular there is a good crop of clover nectar from the meadow grazing land. | ||

If you are interested in beekeeping then I strongly urge you to learn about them before obtaining bees. Preferably by attending a course that gives you hands on experience as well as the theory. It's not easy and there is livestock at risk if you make a bad mistake. However it is a fascinating hobby and Leicestershire & Rutland Beekeepers Association do a thorough beginners course starting each March. Book early as it is very popular!
