General Information on the Recruit Training Weekend
Within around 3 months or so of being issued with their uniform New Recruits into 32F Squadron should take part in the Squadron's New Recruit Training Weekend.
The training is given by the Senior NCOs in the Squadron, under the supervision of the Squadron staff and includes such things as Practical First Aid, Leadership training, Campcraft, Field Cooking, Basic Navigation, Camouflage and Concealment and the obligatory Night Exercise.
The weekend is designed as an introduction to Adventure Training and outdoor type exercises for the Recruits and is run in as practical and realistic a way is as possible. All the activities are outdoors and involve the cadets getting involved and getting their 'hands on' and 'dirty'.
With the NCOs of the Squadron doing most of the instructing and organizing during the weekend it is a good method for the Squadron staff to ensure that the NCOs are performing 'to scratch' and that they are up to the task desired of an NCO and also is a good pointer for any promotions that should be made.
Normally our New Recruit Training weekend will take place at Bonaly campsite near Edinburgh

Pre-Weekend Training
Of course, new recruits will not be taken on the Recruit Training Weekend without being fully briefed on such items as what equipment they need to bring, safety on the weekend and various other information. 32F have a standard preliminary brief for outdoor activities and also a standard kit-list, both of which can be viewed by clicking below.
