Some light-hearted shots by Vice-chairman Nigel:-

With this lot on the door, I almost
had to pay to get in!

Luckily, I didn't have to run the
gauntlet of Auntie Sophie & her chum! Photo: Rob A

This picture got the 'thumbs-down'
for the news item! It's a nice one of Geoff - sorry I spoilt it!

The Exhibition would have ground to
an abrupt halt had it not been for Jenny (far left) and her many helpers that
kept us all fed & watered, so well!
(Note I had to wait till late afternoon to get a clear shot of Jenny with some
of her crew: Ilona & Irene.)

Homer Simpson has nothing on Derek
and Matthew when it comes to chocolate cake - I couldn't resist the carrot cake,
myself!

Friend Graham trying to make out he
wasn't drooling over some of the second-hand rolling stock on sale

Whereas friend Rod was much more
blatant, in the advance stages of buying a loco
And finally, the best notice in the exhibition!?

Great isn't?
Every exhibitor will undoubtedly
have a tale to tell with regards to the overwhelming desire to touch, here's
mine...
A few years ago a father together with
his young son and daughter were watching the trains go by on our layout, at
close quarters. The father, being well aware of the amount of time and effort
that goes into building O gauge rolling stock, impressed upon his children not
to touch. With them dutifully obeying his instruction he relaxed, but in the
process of pointing a finger whilst explaining a finer point of detail he
accidentally derailed a goods truck in the passing train. The admonishment he
received from his children was unbelievably vehement and had me absolutely
curled-up!
