PRESS RELEASE - March 2011

Prom Praise at the Philharmonic Hall Saturday 18 June 2011 (7.30pm)

Gospel and classical artists share Philharmonic Hall stage in eclectic expression of praise - still time to join the choir

Following previous sell-out visits, All Souls Orchestra’s PROM PRAISE Merseyside returns to the Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool on Saturday 18 June 2011. This year as well as the PROM PRAISE Merseyside Choir, conductor Noel Tredinnick and the Orchestra will be joined by an eclectic mix of guest artists including prize-winning soprano Joanne Lunn and X-Factor finalist Beverley Trotman.

Rising gospel star Beverley Trotman made her solo Prom Praise debut at the Royal Albert Hall last year and is delighted to join the event on Merseyside in 2011. After a number of years as part of the popular Kingdom Choir, Beverley has recently launched her solo album with the international Christian record label Integrity Music. Some may recognise Beverley from her appearances in the X-Factor live series. She was also recently nominated for the gospel category in the 2010 MOBO awards.

Joanne Lunn’s star also continues to rise as a highly respected artist in the classical oratorio and opera world. She features with many notable orchestras and conductors around the world, including John Eliot Gardner, Philip Pickett and Harry Christophers. Joanne is a long-time friend of the All Souls Orchestra.

Prom Praise is a unique blend of sacred and concert music, a unique and joyful fusion of performance with worship combining the spirit of Songs of Praise and the world-famous Last Night of the Proms. Prom Praise is a feast of orchestral, solo and choral items. There is an element of celebration too when Noël and the Orchestra invite the audience to stand and join in to sing some favourite hymns and worship songs.

Anybody still interested in joining the Prom Praise Merseyside Choir are invited to contact
Eric Linford (0151 924 8933) at elinford@blueyonder.co.uk who will be happy to provide them with further information. Rehearsals will start in the week commencing 2 May and will be held at a Holy Trinity Church, Chorley Way, Bebington, CH63 9LSl on Wednesdays and also at St. Luke’s Church, 71 Liverpool Road, Crosby, L23 5SE on Mondays.
