EMAIL: brianallenprice@aol.com NAME: Brian A. Price TOPIC: Before And After COPYRIGHT: No, Copyleft. Everything I have created here is hereby in the public domain, “Poof!” TITLE: Reganomics COUNTRY: United States of America WEBPAGE: NA RENDERER USED: POV-Ray TOOLS USED: POV-Ray, PoseRay, Abaro, and PaintShop Pro 4 to convert to JPEG RENDER TIME: 5 hours 1 minute, and 58 seconds HARDWARE USED: Pentium II 350, 128 MB RAM IMAGE DISCRIPTION: I titled this image, “Reganomics”. This is my interpretation of a white, middle class neighborhood in the US - well before “Reganomics”, and then some years after. On the left is an interpretation of a neighborhood sometime in the mid 1950’s, when the American Foursquare house was still affordable for middle class Americans. On the right is an interpretation of a neighborhood sometime in the late 1980’s, after deregulation, the squeeze on middle class income, etc… Of course this is all subjective, as art should be. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This is the first real “scene” I have ever produced in POV-Ray. I had to learn a lot on the way, which is one reason I did not submit the code for the scene (a little messy and not anything real special in there). I wish I would have had more time to work on it, but honestly I got burned out on it. But I sure did have a lot of fun making it. The houses on the left were made box by box. The smoke from the smokestack is a just a bunch of spheres. The grass is a bunch of height-fields. The cars I downloaded free from the internet. The trees and bushes were made using Arbaro. Beyond that, there is not much else to say.
