We have prepared a paper which explains the issues that we need to address in Canada Water and the vision for how Canada Water will be in 2020. The issues and options paper also explains the different options we have for achieving this vision.
The draft Canada Water AAP Issues and Options Report will be presented to Council Executive on November 25 2008. View the Executive report. Informal consultation on the Canada Water AAP Issues and Options report began on November 25 2008.
Formal consultation will begin January 9 2009 and continue until February 20 2009. You can download the issues and options paper and supporting documents below.
We welcome your views and you can get your comments to us via either of the following methods:
The documents are also available to view at the Town Hall, Chiltern House, and all area housing offices, libraries (apart from John Harvard library which is closed for refurbishment) and one stop shops in the borough. You can request paper copies from the Planning Policy team.
All comments must be received by 5pm on February 20 2009. If you make a representation on the document we will contact you regarding this. We will also inform you when Canada Water AAP is at the preffered option stage, is submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination and when it is adopted.

Dear Andrew,Hawkstone T&RA would appreciate it if you could let us know in advance when and if <<Item 5 - Hawkstone Trianalge Feasibility Project Mandate (pdf 38.3kb) (This report was deferred to a future meeting) >> comes back onto the MPB agenda / documents available in advance. I am also copying this to the Chair of Rotherhithe Area Housing forum for his information. It is necessary to ask you because we cannot rely on planning officers to keep us inform about projects that might affect our Estate and homes. Many thanks.Jerry HewittSecretary T&RA

"Government implemented its review of rent restructuring in 2006/07, with a
detrimental effect on individual rent levels for Southwark tenants. The review’s
changes have the effect of accelerating convergence with housing association rents.
In the 2008/09 HRA Subsidy Determination the Government propose to extend rent
restructuring by a further five years, extending the period for convergence to
2016/17."
"The HRA continues to be under pressure, as resources are constrained at or below
2007/08 levels. The Government effectively operates control over rent policy, through
the rent restructuring regime and perversely, reduces Southwark’s subsidy (through
rent clawback), by more than is generated by the rent increase applied to tenants."
