Dunkirk

 

On 20th May 1940 609 Squadron moved from Drem down to Northolt, and on 6th July moved to Middle Wallop. During the May to July period no less than eight pilots were killed in action. There is no doubt in the minds of the survivors that the lack of an experienced leader contributed greatly to the tragic loss of:
