Portraits of some squadron members by Captain Cuthbert Orde. Captain Orde was originally commissioned by the Air Council to draw 150 members of Fighter Command from those engaged in the Battle Of Britain, in order that a permanent record could be kept of those who fought and won the battle. Ultimately this continued throughout the war, with him sketching and painting hundreds of members of the Royal Air Force. These are the known portraits of sometime members of 609 (WR) Squadron.
