If you are thinking of adding a solid fuel stove to your existing central heating system or you want to add a gas/oil boiler to your solid fuel heating system, this site will tell you how to do it.
Dual fuel heating is a system whereby a conventional oil/gas boiler can share the load with a solid fuel heater. The solid fuel heater can be anything from a large log burner to a fire-back boiler. Consider for example a Rayburnä stove which also heats the hot water. Once the water is up to temperature, the stoves heating capacity is wasted. This spare capacity can be used to contribute to the central heating and cut costs. A large log burner would take over all the heating duties and cut costs even further. What you need. The plumbing side requires that the two boilers be isolated from each other. This is done by a neutraliser, usually a small cylinder which sits under the hot water tank. For more information see www.dunsleyheat.co.uk. The electrical side needs the standard controls for the oil/gas system - a room stat, tank stat, programmer and pump. In addition you need a pipe stat and one of our patented dual heating controllers. The control centres can be ordered directly from us at a price of £50 + £3.64 p&p + VAT (total £61.69).
