an accident.

  • Stay calm and make the accident scene as safe as possible.
  • Switch off the ignition.
  • Activate your hazard lights and if you carry a reflective triangle sign erect it.
  • Notify police if there are injuries or property damage if the owner is not present.
  • Keep yourself and others off the road.
  • Keep everyone away from leaking petrol and battery acid.
  • Do not make hurried rash decisions.
  • Do not admit liability.
  • Exchange names, addresses, registration numbers and insurance company details.
Include contact details of any witnesses, should the police attend, get an incident

Now its' happened what do I do next?

  • Contact your insurance company and lodge a claim (we cannot begin repairing
your vehicle until you have done this and the claim has been accepted and a
    claim number allocated)
  • Make sure you supply your insurance company with all the details regarding
the accident including the other parties details and any witness details or police
incident number as this will speed up the claims acceptance process.
  • If your vehicle is still driveable visit Malcolm at 17 Glebe Street in Campbeltown.
(or if your vehicle needs to be towed advise your insurance company or tow
truck driver you want your vehicle to be repaired at The Autobody Centre
Campbeltown and have the vehicle moved to our secure premises) Our estimator
will then be able to assess the damage to your vehicle.
  • Once their assessment has been completed they can then give you an estimate of
how long the repairs will take, organise when you want it repaired and book
you in for a loan car if required.
  • Our estimators are familiar with the procedures of all insurance companies
and once your vehicle is on site for repairs they will handle everything else from
there. All you have to do is relax and forget it’s happened.
  • Autobody Centre guarantees all its work. We use the MaxMayer refinish system,
which has a lifetime warranty on its paint finishes and we fit only the highest
standards of parts. We pride ourselves on our quality of repair and your vehicle
will be returned back to manufactures specifications.
  • As soon as your vehicle has been repaired and inspected the estimator in charge
of your vehicle will contact you personally to inform you when it is ready for
collection. The only trace of the accident will be a fading memory.
