The Situation Cae'r Rhedyn is in a sheltered situation, on the southern slope of Llanbedrog headland, enjoying breathtaking views across Cardigan Bay to the St Tudwal's Islands. The golden sands of Warren Beach are only a few yards away, making this a perfect venue for beach lovers and water sports enthusiasts. Vehicular access to the beach is by way of a locked gate, for which the key is provided to hirers on request. Abersoch is a short distance away and can be reached on foot along the beach at low tide. Several excellent hotels have restaurants open to non-residents and local pubs serve good bar food. There are golf courses at Abersoch, Pwllheli, Porthmadog and Nefyn, and riding stables and lovely walks nearby. Leisure and fishing trips depart regularly from Abersoch harbour and the new marina in Pwllheli. Further afield there are many interesting places to visit. For inclement weather, the swimming pool and leisure complex at Pwllheli are to be recommended. Wednesday is market day in Pwllheli and other popular markets are held at Caernarfon on Saturdays, Llangefni on Thursdays and Porthmadog on Fridays. |

How to find "Cae'r Rhedyn" Leaving Pwllheli and driving towards Abersoch on the A499, look out for the Total petrol station where you fork left. Follow the bend to the right and almost immediately turn left up the hill before St Pedrog's Church Hall. Continue up this narrow road to the top of the hill where it opens out to a layby. Carry on down the hill passing a white cottage on your left (Geufron). Just past the cottage, fork left into Quarry Road (no sign). Follow the lane until you reach the drive down to "Cae'r Rhedyn", which is clearly signed. |
