Be-Friending

Age Concern Cowplain has a Befriending Service to help relieve social isolation and promote the independent living of our local house-bound older people who are unable to access our in-house activities

The Service involves a team of volunteers visiting people in their own homes on a regular basis for approximately one hour each week, the undertaking of small tasks, or sitting with a client to allow a carer to take a short break from their role of caring for an older person

The Service also aims to provide the clients with information as it is required, so they may continue to live as independently as possible in their own homes.

All volunteers for these positions are subject to an interview, two referees and a Criminal Record Check.

If you know of anyone in the Cowplain area, or you believe you may benefit from this service please contact Amanda Mockler on 023 9226 6423

If you would like to volunteer as a be-friender please contact Amanda Mockler on 023 9226 6423 or e-mail Age Concern Cowplain
