Aims and Background

Our Background

Aberdeenshire Disability Action is financed by local authority grant, fundraising and donations. It is run by a volunteer board of Trustees, the majority of whom have a physical and/or a sensory disability.

Our Aims

1. Promote the availability of a range of good, locally based and integrated services.
2. Provide information, support and advocacy for and on behalf of people with a physical disability.
3. Help people with a physical disability to overcome discrimination in all aspects of life.
4. Act as a consultee on issues of concern to people with a physical disability.
5. Co-ordinate action on issues of concern to people with a physical disability.
6. Create, encourage and foster the interest of the general public by providing a link between the membership of the company and those it serves and the wider community.
7. Appoint and manage staff to pursue the above objectives.
