Experience of a lifetime
The Polar Challenge is a 320 mile team race high in the Arctic Circle finishing at the location of the Magnetic North Pole.
The race took place in April 2006 and our team had been training hard. We hauled sledges heavier than ourselves across the frozen Arctic Ocean whilst enduring temperatures as low as -50 degrees Celsius.
80% of the world's polar bears live in the region that we crossed - just to add to the challenge!! At one stage we came face to face with a polar bear during a blizzard.
