Sailing

Catamarans are just about the fastest sailcraft on the water. The obvious difference between one and a dingy are the tow hulls. This gives the craft a very stable platform which is good for beginners and greater width which then allows more speed.

Most use a trapeze that attaches to your waist so that you can get your weight right out. This allows even greater speeds to be achieved therefore giving one of the fastest and thrill-making watersports around.

Sharyn Brown
I'm 29 and enjoy most sports but have been looking to participate in a long-distance challenge for some time. I love competitive events as well as mountain biking, running and sailing catamarans at high speeds.

The North Pole has fascinated me for years, particularly since I ventured onto the Athabaska Glacier in Canada. I can't wait to get there to experience the surroundings, avoid the polar bears, challenge my limits and enjoy being with a great team.
