Lake District Sportscar Run LDSR 2007 Date - Sunday 2nd September 2007 Meeting place : Penrith Golf Club, Penrith, Cumbria Meeting time : 11am (to set off on driving route at mid-day) Quick run through the rules of the event: (1) The event is open to invited cars only. (Please read your car club forums for invites) [ Supercars , Sportscars , GT cars only (any make, any age) ] (2) All drivers should obey ALL the laws of the land in terms of road driving. (3) This event is NOT a race or competition in any shape or form. (4) Please conduct yourselves in a courteyous fashion to all other event attendees and road users. (5) When on the drive route there is no official lead/pace car, please feel free to go at a speed comfortable to yourself. (6) You must accept all risks and liabilities for your own property and actions during the event. Attending the event is a statement of this acceptance. (7) Please enjoy the day, it has been designed for car and driving enthusiasts just like you ! This year for 2007 the event will take place at the end of summer time. I am hoping for clear skies and dry calm weather as we hope to have some real exotica coming out to play. As with previous year's events there will be an initial meet up followed by a pre-planned sportscar friendly driving route. This pre-planned route will take you on some of the best driving roads in the UK and with scenery to match. For the first time in this event the full length of the Hartside run will be used and I have arranged a mid-way stop point in front of an old cold war Vulcan Bomber aircraft for photo opportunities ! The route will bring us back around the north edge of the Lake District and back to Penrith for the end of the event and some light refreshments at The Stoneybeck Inn.
