Edi Shukriu
Writer, University Teacher, politician
Author of the several books of poetry and plays.
Archaeological and ancient history activities focused on
ancient Dardanian history and their relations with
surrounding people. Active in politics since 1990 being one
of the leaders of the Democratic League of Kosova (LDK).
Starting from 2004 Vice-President of Democratic Alternative
of Kosova. Engagement on fundamental values: democracy and
the empowerment of women, the right to self-determination of
people, the peaceful resolution of the conflicts.
Participation at numerous international academic and
political forums as well as participating in Beijing Women's
Conference (1995); Habitat II, Istanbul (1996); Food Summit,
Rome (1996); Conference on Globalization, Santiago de
Compostela (1997); Lendsdown Conference (1999); The
Implementation of the Right to Self-determination as a
Contribution to Conflict Prevention, UNESCO Center,
Barcelona (1999); Conference of Ministers of Culture, Vienna
(2001), XV Congress of International Union for Prehistoric
and Protohistoric Sciences, Lisobn (2006) etc.
