Personal safety
We take the safety of our clients very seriously. Unfortunately crimes against people and property are a fact of life throughout the world and you have the same responsibility for your personal safety as you do at home. We therefore advise all clients to be extra vigilant and ensure that great care is taken at the villa. In the event that you should lose any items of value while on holiday through theft or otherwise, you must report the facts immediately to the local police or other competent authority and obtain a written report. If a report is not obtained it will be difficult for you to pursue any claim through your holiday insurance.

Pool, Garden and General Maintenance
Both the pool and garden are maintained on a regular basis and it is simply not possible for these tasks to be carried out on 'change-over' days. With regards to the pool maintenance, our pool is normally checked and cleaned once a week in the summer (normally Wednesday) and once a fortnight in winter.

Our garden is tended as when needed. It is not possible for us to advise you of the exact date or time of their visit but we do  ask for your cooperation when they visit, as it is imperative to keep the property maintained for your enjoyment and safety

Satellite TV/video/Hi Fi
We have both Spanish and some Sky freeview channels. Our DVD player will play all UK DVDs. The Hi Fi player will play records, CD’s and Tapes plus it is also a radio.

Transfers
Please note, if you are not hiring a car, it is possible to hire a taxi at the airports and in addition there is a bus service from Alicante to Benidorm and a shuttle service direct to Albir (large coach). You can find Information, availability and costs at www.shuttledirect.com.

Keys
These will be sent to you by recorded delivery approximately ten days prior to your departure.

Villa services
Water, electricity and oil consumption are included within the villa rental cost. Unfortunately, although rare, water or electricity shortages do occur and supplies can be cut off with no notice for varying periods of time. We ask for your patience and co-operation in such instances, as you will appreciate these out of our control.

Paying for your holiday
We require a 20% deposit to secure the booking.  The balance of your holiday price must be paid at least eight weeks before departure. If we do not receive the balance payable in full eight weeks before departure your booking will be cancelled and you will lose your deposit. If you book within ten weeks prior to departure this will be classed as a late booking and we must receive full payment before we can confirm your booking.

Cancellation
If you cancel your holiday, you must compensate us for losses, as we incur costs from the moment you make the booking. The closer your cancellation is to the departure date, the less likely we are to recover the costs by re-letting the villa. If we are successful in re-booking the villa 10 weeks prior to your intended departure date, we will refund your deposit less our expenses.

If for any reason we have to cancel your booking, we will refund to you all the monies paid by you.

Air conditioning/heating
The villa has air-conditioning in all the bedrooms and the apartment lounge. The main bedroom unit and the apartment units are also heaters. In addition we have oil central heating in the main villa and electric portable heaters in the apartment.

Car hire
Generally, hire cars are collected at the airport on arrival and returned at the end of your holiday. There are numerous hire companies at both Alicante and Valencia airports. Please check carefully that your rental period coincides with your requirements and flight times. We use a variety of hirers and have found that “Carjet.com” offers a good service.

Everyone intending to drive will need to produce a full British driving licence which has been held for at least one year, however certain locations/car types require a minimum two years. Some car hire companies may also impose a local charge for additional/young drivers (under 25 years old). Baby seats can be fitted to the majority of hire cars if requested at the time of booking. All car categories are subject to availability. In the event of a specific car type not being provided by the car hire company an alternative vehicle of the same category or higher may be provided.

Children's safety
As we know, children are naturally curious especially when on holiday where there are lots of areas and things to be explored. Although our villa is on a flat plot and safe for children/ Please ensure that children are not left unsupervised at any time during your holiday and be extra careful with the terraces and swimming pools etc.

Cots
If you require a cot please let us know in good time so that we can arrange for it to be available.

Insects
Whilst we normally find that we have minimal disturbance from Mosquitoes, ants etc, they are around.  We have a good Ant repellent spray for the garden that is kept topped up by our gardener. Ant powders are also a good repellent but it also helps to keep crumbs to a minimum at all times both in and outdoors. Mosquitoes can be kept at bay by a good repellent, and the villa is equipped with the holders for mosquito tablets that can bought at most supermarkets.

Kitchens
Both the main villa and apartment kitchens include hob, fridge/freezer, toaster, dishwasher plus basic cooking utensils and ample cutlery and crockery. The main villa kitchen also has a microwave. We also have a large washing machine for general use, housed in its own room, accessible to everyone. Please note cleaning products or materials are not  provided.

Maid service
The villa will be cleaned and fresh linen and towels will be provided before your arrival. In some circumstances we may be able to provide extra services if required (please ask). Please note that beach/pool towels are not supplied and these should be taken with you. We kindly ask all guests not to use the towels supplied for the beach or around the pool.

Occupying/vacating your property
In general our villa can be occupied from 1600 hours onwards. In order that our properties are adequately prepared for new arrivals, we must ask you to vacate the villa by 1000 hours on the day of your departure.

Passport reminder: only full ten-year passports with a recommended six
months validity on your return travel date are valid for travel overseas and children now require their own passports. If you need to obtain a new passport, this will normally take two weeks by post. Should you require further information please contact the passport office on 0870 5210410 or visit their web site at www.ukpa.gov.uk.
