About the Photographers

Roberta and Alex Houston are members of Stirling and District Camera Club (SDCC) and Stirling Astronomical Society (SAS). They are also members of the SDCC Audio Visual (AV) Group. Alex is Editor of the journal of the SAS, "The Mercury".

Roberta is particularly interested in the artistic side of photography including digital manipulation of images. She rediscovered a keen interest in photography when she successfully undertook a GCSE course in art/photography in 2002, while living in Gosport, Hampshire. She was winner of the SDCC Digital League Trophy in 2009, was joint winner in 2008, and was winner of the SDCC Annual Digital Competition in 2007 with "Sunbeds 2".

Alex is interested in astrophotography and record shots which can be used for AV presentations, for which he sometimes writes and records the music. He presented a talk entitled "Putting your own music to an AV presentation" at the Scottish Photographic Federation (SPF) Audio Visual Day held in Airdrie in 2007. He has an Honorary Professorship in the Department of Psychology at the University of Stirling.

Roberta and Alex live in Tullibody, Clackmannanshire in Scotland, have been married since 1975 and have three grown-up children: Melanie, Linsey and Andrew.
