Sound of Mull

The Sound of Mull is perhaps our favourite UK dive destination.

The waters are normally exceptionally clear and the shipwrecks here are easily accessible and many are very intact and still shipshape.

Pictured here is the main town of Tobermorrey on the Isle of Mull.

This photo shows the view over the bows of the shipwreck 'Hispania'.

This is one of the most intact shipwrecks in UK waters.

The entire ship sits upright in a depth of 30m and the mast is still clearly visible rising to within 15m of the surface.

About 16 miles due West of the Isle of Mull is the Hebredian island of Coll.

The wreck of the Tapti lies here in about 24m of water.

Although the wreck is very much broken up, the bows are still fairly recognisable and point vertically up towards the surface, rising 15m above the seabed.

Pictured here are the main handrails at the bows.
