St Albans Folk Music

St Albans Folk Music organises pub sessions, workshops linked to concerts and an annual 'New roots' competition for young musicians. It is a part of the 'Folk at the Festival' Committee which organises folk music, dance and song events for the two yearly St Albans festival.

Sessions
After thirty years, the sessions on Thursdays at the Rose and Crown, St Michael's Street have now been put to an end by the publican.We should like to thank her predecessors for their support.
Meanwhile, regular weekly sessions continue at the White Lion, Sopwell Lane on Wednesdays at 9pm, where musicians are made welcome.

St Albans Folk at the Festival, 2012   St Albans Council has at last decided on the dates of St Albans Festival. It will run from June 16 to July 1.We are going ahead with our plans for a Day of Dance and another Old Town Hall Folk Day on Saturday June 30 2012, followed by music in local pubs on Sunday July 1. St Michael's Street Folk evening will be on its customary date, Wednesday July 4 2012.

St Michael's Street folk evening will be on on Wednesday July 4 2012. Dancing in St Michael's Street and music in its four pubs.
