St Albans Folk Music organises pub sessions, workshops linked to concerts and an annual 'New roots' competition for young musicians. It is a part of the 'Folk at the Festival' Committee which organises the St Albans Folk Festival.

St Albans Folk Festival
St Albans Folk Festival will take place on June 24 and 25 2017, with the main events on June 24. Once again, this will be the Albantide weekend. As in 2016, it will include a Day of Dance, free showcase performances, sessions and singarounds in City Centre pubs and other venues and workshops and the Festival concert in the Maltings Arts Theatre. The festival concert will feature The Furrow Collective, winners of the 2017 BBC Radio Folk Award for Best Group, plus Watford Folk Club Song Writing Competition winners Alison and Jack and New Roots 2017 finalist Bláthnaid McCullagh.
