St Albans Folk Music

St Albans Folk Music organises pub sessions, workshops linked to concerts and an annual 'New roots' competition for young musicians. It is a part of the 'Folk at the Festival' Committee which organises the St Albans Folk Festival.

New Roots an event for young musicians. If you are under 25 and play folk, roots or traditional music, we would like to hear from you. For further details, click here.

Sessions Mainly traditional Irish, English, Scottish and other traditional music. All welcome to listen or to play.

Weekly sessions return to the Rose and Crown, St Michaelís Street at 9.00pm on Wednesdays from October 11 to November 30 in the first instance. If they take off, they will resume after Christmas.

Monthly sessions at the Great Northern, London Road at 6.00pm on Sundays, usually on the fourth Sunday of the month. The next sessions are on October 22 and November 26.

St Albans Folk Festival will be on June 16 and 17 2018, with the main events being on Saturday June 16.

St Michael's Street folk evening
St Michael's Street folk evening will be on Wednesday July 4 2018. Dancing in St Michael's Street and music everywhere.
