St Albans Folk Music organises pub sessions, workshops linked to concerts and an annual 'New roots' competition for young musicians. It is a part of the 'Folk at the Festival' Committee which organises the St Albans Folk Festival.

Sessions Mainly traditional Irish, English, Scottish and other traditional music. All welcome to listen or to play.
Weekly sessions at 8.30pm on Wednesdays are now at the Robin Hood, 126 Victoria Street, St Albans AL1 3TG.
Monthly sessions are at the Great Northern, London Road at 6.00pm on Sundays, usually on the fourth Sunday of the month.
St Albans Folk Festival
St Albans Folk Festival will be on June 15 - 17 2018, with the main events being on Saturday June 16. These will include a Day of Dance, free showcase performances, sessions, singarounds, workshops and a festival concert at 7.45pm at the Maltings Arts Theatre, featuring The Dovetail Trio, Granny’s Attic, Spånga Folkdansgille from Sweden, Watford Folk Club song competition winner, Julian Mount and New Roots finalist Lizzy Hardingham. Folk at the Maltings
Friday July 6, 8.00pm The Daria Kulesh Quartet, a new band, making its first local appearance at The Maltings plus Ben Moss and New Roots finalists, Bow by Bow. Rescheduled from March 2. If you have a ticket for March 2, you will not need to pay again.
No concerts in August and September
Friday October 5, 8.00pm Solasta, dynamic young trio, Scottish fiddler Elisabeth Flett, Welsh cellist Hannah Thomas and English guitarist Jamie Leeming plus others tbc.
Sunday November 11, 8.00pm Walter Harvey Hallam, an ordinary man, a one act play by Alison Raymond, telling the story of a London draper cast into extraordinary circumstances when he volunteered for military service in 1915, plus singing by Martin Olyett.
