On Tuesday 6th May a group of people from Nuthall Mother's Union and Nuthall Historical Society visited the Church. We began with a short service and then Robert, who had been delving into the history of St. Edmunds, told them some of the history of the building and the village. He was followed by Elizabeth Brackenbury who explained the history of the Pierrepont family. We then gave them tea and cakes etc. and afterwards Elizabeth showed them The Lodgings (the oldest part of the Hall) and the gardens.

The group all agreed that it was the best and most interesting visit. Many thanks go to Robert and Elizabeth and to the ladies who provided delicious tea.

We have become very educational during May because we were also hosts to a WEA class who were studying Notts. Churches on Monday 19th May. They had coffee and biscuits and then went on to Bingham.

I would like to thank all those who helped at the working party; the church looks lovely and clean, as a result of their efforts.

With love to you all,

Angela
