Clarinet Ensemble
|
The clarinet ensemble (we are still
working on a name for our group) was formed in August 2000 from members of the
Nottingham Wind Ensemble who have given a concert in the past for All Hallows
Church. We play as a flexible group made up from 3 B flat clarinets and an alto and bass clarinet. The ensemble rehearses in the Church on Thursday evenings and play at charitable events in and around Nottingham. The groups next engagement is on November 27th at Grangewood Methodist Church in Woollaton. We are hoping to raise money to aid a Caribbean farming family who are suffering the effects of the recent hurricanes. Our repertoire is taken from a range of popular, jazz and classical music. Examples are: The Teddy Bears Picnic, The Four Slavonic Dances (Dvorak), Summertime (Gershwin), Misty (Errol Garner), Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (Tchaikovsky), Charade and Moon River (Mancini), Music fron the Threepenny Opera (Kurt Weill) and Faure's Pavan. The Ensemble can be contacted via Mike Smith on 01522 722757 or by e mail at
