Miscellaneous
You can navigate around the site using the buttons at the top of the page.
There's always a Misc. section in anything on Earth, right? Here goes, with all the odds and ends that didn't fit in elsewhere, and were too small or minor to justify a button of their own on the navbar.

Web-Books
I have written a discourse on atheism, titled 'Science Asks Why' [A Discourse on Atheism]. This book, as a 112kB Word document, at 34 pages, is here.
I have also written another atheist book, 'Lies, Damned Lies, and Religion', a humorous attack on religion's dominance of our lives. The first draft, a 222kB .pdf (PDF: Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format), can be found here.
Another thing I have written is a guide on how to program in BASIC, with examples, checkpoints (exercises), and stuff. You can get the thing here.
RAY
Rational Atheist Youth is a new society co-founded by myself and the mysteriousinternaut (the person behind Roggle.tk), which will co-ordinate a number of atheist projects, including 'Science Asks Why', 'The Atheist Agenda', and 'Your Atheist Switch Stories'.
For more in-depth info on RAY, go to the RAY main page, here.
The Anti-Math
The Anti-Math is an irreverent (and, quite possibly, irrelevant) collection of 'proofs' with unexpected results! 'Proofs' so far include "1=0" and "Right is Wrong". Contact me ('Feedback' link) and send in your own false 'proofs'; if any good, they will appear (duly attributed) on the page.
The Anti-Math can be found here.
If enough get sent in, I might one day collate them into a book, and make approaches to publishers.
Music
You can find some music which I have written on the Music page.

I have created some buttons and banners for αλφα-soft. To add them to your web page, copy and paste a line of the following html code:
They appear like this: [sizes 480*96, 320*64, 150*32 pixels respectively]

There is also a small button which you can use, in two versions (choose depending on your background):
OR
. It is 73x24 pixels and can be added to your site by copying and pasting the following html code:
OR
For a slightly smaller version (73x19 pixels), remove the '_blued' from the filename.
Also
OR
(alfabutton.png and alfabuttonyellow.png) [120x58 pixels]
Incidentally, the gradients on all of these buttons, banners, and also various other images around the site were made manually, pixel-wise, in Paint.
All αλφα-soft buttons & banners licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license version 2.5 which can be found here.
Phase Theory
Some time ago I came up with a fundamental theory of physics, considering the ramifications of phase in particlewaves. I gave it the interim name of Phase Theory, and you can take a look at the easy-to-understand explanation of it [.doc], and if you're feeling brave visit the scientifically expressed version [.pdf].
I have now expanded it, with a new model detailed in yet another paper [.doc].
Please drop me a line if you have any feedback, queries, or suggestions relating to this theory.
Note on a Method for Integrating Certain Functions
An interesting bit of maths I worked out independently is described here (.odt OpenDocument format); (.pdf Adobe Portable Document Format).
If you have the 'OpenOffice' suite of programs click on the .odt, otherwise click on the .pdf [Portable Document Format]
Roggle
A friend of mine, Ben Green, has a website called Roggle - Roggle.tk - full of all sorts of stuff. He used to have some forums as well but they seem to have died due to excessive spam from drug advertisers(!)
AY Chip Music
I like to write music for the AY chip, a sound chip made by General Instruments back in the days of 8-bit computers. I use a piece of software called 'SoundTracker', made by some Polish people, but I don't know who they are. An example of my work is 'Handshakes Across the Concert Hall', it's a 1.39MB .zip file, and is available from the Music page.
Sinclair ZX Spectrum
I am also into old computers, and I have written a few programs for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum +3, which was actually manufactured by Amstrad way back in '89 or some such time. A small collection can be found here (29kB zip file). To run these programs you will need a Spectrum emulator; to find out more about the Spectrum, and where you can get emulators, go to World Of Spectrum (but please don't ask on the forums which emulator is best, because they have arguments about this which go on for pages and pages. And anyway, the best one's clearly RealSpectrum. SPIN is lame. This is of course only my opinion. Also, sadly HatStand (an emulator project I am writing in BASIC) only emulates the 16k Spectrum, and to open this disk you'll need a +3. And HatStand isn't finished and I don't know when it will be).
CSSCGC 2006
In connection with the above, I have made some entries into the comp.sys.sinclair Crap Games Competition 2006. This is a competition where you write really bad games in Sinclair BASIC, inspired by the tremendously awful Cascade Cassette 50, and I dare say Matt Rudge's site explains it better than I can. Click the link above to find out more. My entries to it are: ULAroids, Enigmatronic Encryption, Rotatris, The World Is Populated By Twonks, and Dr Who Tardisode. As a matter of fact, I wrote 50 games, and sent in 5. So I'll probably be sending in 5 every year until 2015!
--UPDATE--
The results are now in, and the best I did was joint 11th, with 'The World Is Populated By Twonks'. There's always next year...
