Logo Wheatley - Banbury Bill

This stick dance follows the standard Cardiff pattern for Wheatley and uses the Bampton tune. It finishes during the chorus following the double hey. It was originally choreographed by the inimitable (thankful, as we are, for small mercies) Paul Hodges.

Chorus
Danced facing across and single stepping throughout, as in Trunkles.

The sticking itself is butts-and-tips twice, on the beat, followed by a back-hand clash across to reach for the person diagonally to your right and three forehands, diagonally right, across with partner and diagonally left.

The second half of the B music is then used to repeat the butts-and-tips, finishing with closed sidesteps as in Trunkles with sticks shouldered.

Finish
The final chorus after the double hey, however, dispenses with the sidesteps and finishes with the backhand across, followed by two forehands (right and across) and a final backhand-and-face-up. The dance should then finish abruptly and neatly.
