TRAINING IS ESSENTIAL

Always wear protective clothing and keep equipment properly maintained the following guidelines taken from the UK Forestry Safety Council Chain Saw Guide should be taken into account when using Chain Saws.

Protective Clothing and Equipment Required
  • Safety Helmet (Complying with BS5240) UK.
  • Eye Protection
  • Ear Defenders (See FSC N).
  • Gloves with protective guarding on back of the left hand.
  • Safety Boots with protective guarding at front vamp and instep good grip.
  • Leg Protection.
  • Non snag outer clothing.
  • First Aid Kit including large wound dressing (Sl 1981 No 917). See FSC 34.
  • Hand Cleaning Material waterless skin cleanser or soap and water towels.
