Woodturning Reference and Information Site 

My name is Alan Green and I was born August 1940 in Wymington, Bedfordshire, England and I now live on the South Coast of England in Weymouth, which is situated in the County of Dorset. I am married with 3 children and 5 grandchildren
My working life has been spent  in the Electronics Industry in both Engineering and Manufacturing much of this time at a senior level. I have worked in many areas of the UK including Scotland and worked several years in the USA with a leading American instrumentation company.
Before fully retiring in March 2001 I worked for almost 4 years as a Business Adviser with Business Link Dorset with a specific support role in the manufacturing sector.
As an amateur Woodturner for almost 30 years and a member of The Association Woodturners of Great Britain, I find woodturning one of the most relaxing and enjoyable activities as well as being a wonderful opportunity to develope your own creativity and skills.
 I have a keen interest in the preservation of our woods and forests and only use timber that is supplied via legitimate sources. I always enjoy turning the English hardwoods of which Ash with an oil finish is my favourite
