She was the Executor to the Will of her mother, Charlotte Blyth, on 17 Jan 1857. Marian did not attend when her mothers will was proved and power was reserved from her acting as an executrix. She inherrited a gold watch from her mother, Charlotte Blyth, on 12 Feb 1857. Marian also shared the remainder of her mothers estate with her 3 sisters. She was a Governess as per 1851 census in St Osyth, Essex. 1841 Census: Mary Ann, 25, is living with her mother and 2 brothers, Frederick and Octavius, at Hythe Quay, Colchester.

He was a Merchants Clerk in Colchester, Essex. 1841 Census: Octavius, 15, is living with his mother, brother Frederick and sister Marian at Hythe Quay, Colchester.
