395. Frederick Edmund BLYTH

his mother, Charlotte Blyth, on 12 Feb 1857. He died on 23 Oct 1867 in Greenwich,
London. From the paper Frederick died "at his residence 23 Ashburnham Grove,
Greenwich. Frederick Edmund son od the late Daniel Othwaite Blyth Esq of Colchester,
in his 50th year, much regretted by all who knew him." He was a Farmer.
1843: Marriage certificate states Frederick as a merchant from Colchester.
1844: on his sons, Frederick Wilsons, baptism records Frederick Edmund is listed
as a merchant.
1851 Census: shows Frederick farming 70 acres, employing 7 men.
1861 Census: Frederick is a Dock and Share Broker in Peckham, Surrey. 1841 Census:
Frederick, 20, living at Hythe Quay, Colchester with his mother, his sister Marian
and brother Octavius.
1851 Census: Living at Braziers Farm, St. Osyth with his wife and 6 children.
1855 Kellys Directory has Frederick still at Braziers Farm.
1861 Census: Frederick, 41, was living with his wife and 8 children at 11 Hill
Street West, Peckham, Surrey. Their marriage was registered between 1 Apr 1843
and 30 Jun 1843 in Tendring District, Essex. He obtained a marriage license
on 1 Jun 1843. Frederick was from St Leonards, Colchester, Jane was from St
Osyth. They were both single and over the age of 21 years. The marriage was due
to take place at St Osyth. He was married to Jane Ann BLYTH (daughter of
Carrington Wilson BLYTH and Ann LANGLEY) on 6 Jun 1843
in St Osyth, Essex. Witnesses to marriage were William Wilson Blyth, Sarah Maria
Lingley and Ellen Sophia Blyth. Jane Ann BLYTH was
born about 1821 in St Osyth, Essex. She was baptised on 9 Jun 1821 in St Osyth,
Essex. She inherrited half of the residue of her fathers estate on 3 Feb 1848.
Her father instructed that his trustees should invest any remaining money from
his estate, half of it for his daughter, Jane. She would receive the yearly interest
payments for her own use. When she died, the interest would be used for the upbringing
of her children and they would receive the principal sum when they each reached
the ages of 21. She died on 27 Oct 1905 in Brockley, Kent. She was living
at Belle Vue Villa, Upper Harefield Road, Brockley at the time of her death.
Her Will was proved on 29 Nov 1905 in London. Her estate was valued at £1183.1.3.
1851 Census: Jane, 29, is living at Braziers Farm, St Osyth with her husband,
5 children and sister in law.
1861 Census: Jane, 39, is living with her husband and 8 children at 11 Hill Street
West, Peckham, Surrey.
1881 Census: Jane is living at 2 Eastbourne Terrace, Lewisham, Kent with 4 of
her children and a General Domestic Servant (Emily Stocks, aged 18, from Gt Dunmow,
Essex). Jane is shown as aged 58 and a Widow.
Aug 1891: Jane was living at 33 Manor Park, London.
1901 Census: Jane, 79, is living at 7 Upper Harefield Road, St Pauls, Deptford,
London, with 2 of her daughters and a general servant. Frederick Edmund BLYTH
and Jane Ann BLYTH had the following children:

on 12 May 1844 in St Leonards, Colchester, Essex. He died on 26 Jul 1891 in
Tooting, Surrey. He died at Newlands House, Tooting Bec Road, Tooting Common,
Surrey. His will was proved on 26 Aug 1891 in Principal Registry, London. His
estate was valued at £3,505.10.1. He was a Member of the Stock Exchange
as per 1881 Census. 1861 Census: Frederick is a Dock & ShareBrokers Clerk
in Peckham - possibly working for his father. 1851 Census: Frederick, 7, is
at Braziers Farm, St Osyth with his family. He was shown as a 'Scholar at home'.
1861 Census: Frederick, 17, was living with his parents at 11 Hill Street West,
Peckham, Surrey.
1881 Census: Frederick, 37 and unmarried, is living with his mother and 3 of
his sisters at 2 Eastbourne Terrace, Lewisham, Kent.
Prior to his death Frederick had also lived at 33 Manor Park, Lee, Kent and 79
Cornhill, London.

Alice Jane BLYTH was born about 1845 in St Leonards, Colchester, Essex.
1861 Census shows Alice having been born in St Osyth. Her birth was registered
between 1 Apr 1845 and 30 Jun 1845 in Colchester District, Essex. She was baptised
on 11 Jun 1845 in St Leonards, Colchester, Essex. She died on 5 Jan 1900 in
Brockley, Kent. Her will was proved on 1 Mar 1900 in London. Her effects were
valued at £306.7.2. 1851 Census: Alice, 5, is at Braziers Farm, St Osyth
with her family. She was shown as a 'Scholar at home'.

1 Oct 1846 and 31 Dec 1846 in Tendring District, Essex. She was the Executor
to the Will of her sister, Alice Jane Blyth, on 1 Mar 1900 in London. She was
the Executor to the Will of her mother, Jane Ann Blyth, on 29 Nov 1905 in London.
She died in 1927. Possibly known as Ellen Caroline. In baptisms as Caroline
Ellen.
