1881 Census: Octavius, 12, was a border pupil at Halstead Grammer School.
1901 Octavius and his family were living in East Donyland, Colchester. His occupation was shown as Brewer on his sons baptism records.
1901 Census: Octavius, 32, was living with his wife, son and sister in law at High Street, East Donyland. They also has a Domestic Housemaid living with them.
1902 Kellys Directory lists, under private residents, for Rowhedge: Octavius Blyth, Colne View.

He was married to Adeline Mary Martha PAULL (daughter of Unknon PAULL). Adeline Mary Martha PAULL was born in 1873 in Surrey. 1901 Census: Adeline, 28, was living in High Street, East Donyland with her husband, son and sister. Octavius BLYTH and Adeline Mary Martha PAULL had the following children:

596 iii. Margaret Adeline Paull BLYTH was born on 22 Jun 1913. She was baptised on 6 Jul 1913 in East Donyland, Colchester, Essex. She died on 4 Dec 1987. She was buried in St Leonards, Colchester, Essex. Memorial inscription reads: In Loving Memory of Margot Blyth born 22-6-1913, died 4-12-1987. She was also known as Margot.

He was married to Amy Muriel CANT (daughter of Frank CANT) on 1 Jun 1927 in Lexden, Colchester, Essex. Entry in The Times read "Octavius Blyth, youngest son of the late John Blyth of Tolleshunt Knights to Muriel Cant daughter of Frank Cant JP of Braiswick, Colchester."
