185. Ann BLYTH was born about 1806 in Great Wigborough, Essex. She was baptised on 22 Oct 1806 in Great Wigborough, Essex. She inherrited £100 when she reached 21 from her uncle, William Blyth, on 17 Aug 1820. She inherrited £500 from her father, Samuel Blyth, on 20 Oct 1843. The £500 was to be paid from the income of Sturgeons Farm. If Ann died then the legacy would be split equally between any children she may have once they reached 21 years. Ann was also to receive £500 from the income of Barn Hall Farm. Ann also received an equal share of the residue of her fathers estate. She was buried on 13 Feb 1855 in West Hanningfield, Essex. Ann died aged 48 years. 1851 Census: Ann, 42, was living with her husband in West Hanningfield.

She obtained a marriage license on 10 Feb 1843. William was from West Hanningfield, Ann was from Tolleshunt Knights. They were both single and over 21 years of age. William BENSON was born about 1809 in West Hanningfield, Essex. He was a Farmer in 1843 in West Hanningfield, Essex. 1851 Census: William was farming 200 acres in West Hanningfield. He employed 7 out door agricultural labourers and 2 boys.
1861 Census: he was farming 215 acres employing 8 men and 4 boys. He owned 465a. 2r. 36p. of land in 1873 in Essex. At this time William was living in West Hanningfield. He paid a gross estimated rental of £550.12s. 1851 Census: William, 42, was living with his wife in West Hanningfield. They had a servant, groom and housekeeper living with them.
1861 Census: William, 59, widowed, was living at Pinnings, West Hanningfield. He had a housekeeper, servant and general stockman living with him.
