Choices
I have just finished Choices which is with Pam Royds, my agent.
Stan and his friend, Davy, leave school aged 12 years old.
They are glad to leave because of the horrible teachers.
Miss Jones is always shouting and the headmaster, Old Basset, drinks and canes the children.
Stan loves animals and wants to work on Ashton’s farm but has to work in the Coal Mine.
They live in Pant in North Wales just before the start of the First World War.
Stan wants to be a soldier with his friend Davy as he thinks it will be like a holiday in France.
