PhD Thesis: Philosophical Themese from C.S. Lewis

My doctoral thesis, entitled Philosophical Themes from C.S. Lewis was completed in 2003 as the conclusion to my studies at The University of Sheffield. You can open or download my PhD thesis by clicking on the button to the right.

One of my main reasons for focussing on the work of C.S. Lewis, aside from my long-time admiration of his writings, was that he has been largely neglected by the philosophical community at large and I wanted to do something to address that situation.

Obviously things move on, and since I wrote my thesis several important works have been written of which my thesis could not take account. I list some of these below. If you are aware of any other books which you think should be added to this list, then please get in touch.

  • Victor Reppert: C.S. Lewis's Dangerous Idea
  • Jerry L Walls, Gregory Bassham (eds.): The Chronicles of Narnia and Philosophy
  • John Beverslius: C.S. Lewis and the Search for Rational Religion (revised edition)
  • Eric Wielenberg: God and the Reach of Reason
  • Adam Barkman: C.S. Lewis & Philosophy as a Way of Life
  • David Bagget, Gary R Habermas, Jerry L Walls (eds.): C.S. Lewis as Philosopher
