Our vision
“To see our community transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit,
and the see the majority of the population come to faith in the Lord Jesus.”
We believe we exist…
…to worship God
…to share the Good News of Jesus
…to serve others in the power of the Holy Spirit
To worship God
To come freely into the presence of Almighty God is perhaps the greatest of all the privileges of the Christian life. Our priority in worship is not simply to offer praise and intercession, but to engage with the living God who changes lives. We seek, therefore, to provide worship that is of a high quality and in a variety of styles, some traditional and some contemporary.
At the heart of our worship is a commitment to the Bible as God’s supreme and authoritative revelation in all matters of faith and conduct. Sermon series are sometimes expository and sometimes theme based.
As we spend time in God’s presence we also expect that He will speak through words of knowledge and prophecy, that spiritual gifts will be released, and that those present will find life and healing.
To share the Good News of Jesus
We believe that Jesus is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life” and that there is no other way to the Father. The sharing of this Good News is, therefore, the highest priority in the life of our church.
We seek to share this Good News in two ways:
By providing God’s welcome to those who come to us – worship that is accessible and relevant to people of all ages; a welcome which seeks to reflect the love and generosity of Jesus.
By taking the Good News of the Kingdom into the community – through open-air services; events in the local pub; and through seeking to do the things that Jesus did in the power of the Holy Spirit.
To serve others in the power of the Holy Spirit
We believe that God calls us to sacrifice ourselves in the service of others. Many members of St Peter’s are engaged in serving the village in a variety of practical ways. In this way we seek to demonstrate the generosity and mercy of God to our community.
