Experimental Photography ...
Our experiments our wide and varied, essentially we
have a go at anything. We take pride in our range of
equipment, including the most importantly our
film and cameras. Here are
some pictures that will give you an idea of some of the
cameras that we use for our abstract photographic work ...

A selection of large, medium and small format cameras
that we use to take abstract photographs. Big cameras
make for big pictures. they also have the side effect of
making the photographer think more about their images.
Since we began using large and medium format cameras our
failure rate has reduced massively.

Cine Cameras, Panoramic cameras and a Minolta light
meter. We are working on a new range of
abstract panoramic images
and also abstract cine movies at present. Just for fun,
but who knows where experimentation will lead us.

2 Minolta 600si Classics, a Minolta Dynax 5 and a
Minolta 500si. Minolta cameras work very well for the
work we do. The chunky Classics can handle any outside
work very professionally and the little Dynax 5 is my
favoured camera for microscopic work. It is light and
has very little judder when attached to the eyepiece of
an industrial microscope.

A minolta Dimage 7 Digital, used mainly as a
studio camera. We use this for studio work, catalogues
and web design work because it has a very sharp lens and
operates for a long time when used with an external
power source. To be honest they haven't made batteries
yet that this camera doesn't exhaust in 15 minutes.

A Sony A100 digital and Minolta Flash Gun.
Digital cameras do have there place in our abstract
photography. we used to use polaroid to check exposure
times and angles etc, but nowadays we can get accurate
EXIF info recorded by digital cameras and then, once we
are sure of our image we switch to film for the final
record. We have chosen Sony because of their interaction
with Minolta AF lenses and equipment.
