“The Goddess at the Spring”,
completed 1988.

Oils on canvas, 110 cm x 143 cm.

This is based on the symbolising of the turn of the seasons as the continual interplay of a God (the Sun) and a Goddess (the Earth). The painting represents the point where the Goddess is made young again by bathing in the Fountain (or Spring) of Youth.
The painting is primarily about renewal, with a barren winter landscape in the background and one of lush growth and fertility in the foreground.
