Producing a Presentation on this theme was a task we were set on applying for the post of Head of the Art Department. Unfortunately, I was not successful in my application, but I thought that it was a very interesting subject and I re-worked the presentation into a booklet for my future use.

Although now retired from teaching, I still believe passionately in the opinions I expressed in the booklet. I re-produce it here, both as an exercise in design and in the hope that it may be of interest - and even possible use - to others in the teaching profession.
