I am interested in how to be an artist. Art P.E. is about what I consider to be the core skills and the approach necessary to become one.
Technical skills are important, but can be over-stated. The priority has to be to discover what it is that it is important for you to express. The process of exploring this creates a tendency towards technical improvement - at a rate which is natural for you - because drawing, painting, modeling, etc., are tools with which you can explore and develop your potential.
In the same way, art history is useful because it can widen your understanding, both into what has already affected you (even if you may not have realized it) and into ways of furthering your own expressiveness. For an artist, art history is not merely a process of educating you as a consumer/receiver of art, but is an integral part of learning how art is produced - and thus into how to improve your own skills!
However, since I am no longer confined by the constraints of actual employment as a teacher, my lesson plans and notes are added as the whim takes me. But if you consider that any may be of use to you, please free to copy any material that you wish. My only request is that, if you do find anything useful, I would be grateful if you would let me know.
