My “Elemental Cards” form part of my investigation into the workings of the mind and were initially inspired by Tarot cards, but whereas the Tarot Major Arcana is based on archetypal figures, my “Major Arcana” consists of 25 cards based on the twenty-five symbols I developed in the last section - understood as expressing dimensions within the mind.

My equivalent of the Minor Arcana of the Tarot cards is a set of 40 cards in four suits, which combines my understanding of the significance of the numbers 1-10 with that of the four base elements of Air, Earth, Fire and Water.

When used, the cards are intended to reflect the concerns in the mind of the subject.

(Historical Note: At one stage, I also had an equivalent of the Tarot “Court” cards, Knaves, Knights, Kings and Queens, linked to the four Elements. However, with experimentation, I found these inappropriate and stopped using them.)
