Mopping Up After the Capture of Goch
By the evening of February 21st British troops using tanks and flame throwers had cleared Goch of all its defenders, with the exception of a few isolated snipers. Fighting for the town had been bitter, and fierce battles to the north east where still going on when this picture was taken on February 21st. Picture shows: firing across the river into factory area north of Goch. ( Sergeant J Welch, Greenwich Place, Gateshead on Tyne )
