DESCRIPTION: Four main Allied Army groups are advancing on to Mandalay, Burma/ China transport centre. The 5th Indian Division has advanced from Imphal to Kalewa, the objective of the East African Division pushing down from the north. The 36th British Division, with whom these picture where taken, have advanced from Mogaung via Mawlu to Pinwe, from whence a railway runs down to Mandalay. Chinese troops under General Viedermeyer and general Sultan, are driving on to the Burma Road from the north and north east.
