British Sappers Work at Night on Bailey Bridge
Recent heavy rain have caused the river Maas to rise above its normal level.
This rise had changed the approaches to the pontoon Bailey bridge which spans the Maas at this point owing to the fact that the bridge was put across the river at normal winter tide. This flashlight picture shows British Sappers working at night to get the approaches suitable for traffic by the morning. Picture shows: The Sappers working to make a foundation for the new section of the approaches.
