Ashley’s training facility, approximately 85 acres in total, of established grassland provides an excellent environment for the horses.
The yard, has approximately 18 stables. Each stable block is fully covered with high roofs, providing an airy stable environment and protection from the weather. There is a five-horse walker and turn-out paddocks adjacent to the stables.
Because of the location of this yard Coldharbour boasts one of the best grass gallops in the area. The main exercise gallop is approximately six furlongs in length and the farm has alternative gallops to suit the horse’s training requirements.
In terms of schooling, Ashley has set up perfect facilities to prepare young horses for their first race meeting or simply give a refresher for the more experienced racehorses.
The yard has a range of schooling fences from baby hurdles through to ‘National Hunt standard’ fences. Every horse is schooled by its jockey to ensure that each horse is fully prepared for its racing debut or new season.
