Ashley has always been involved in racing and has built upon his experiences in Richard Holder’s, John Edward’s and Martin Pipe’s racing yards. He has ridden many winners for all of these yards ’under rules’ and was a highly-regarded amateur jockey.
In 2004 he broke the record for the number of winners ridden in a season (54 with the backing of David Pipe’s yard) and secured the National Point-to-Point Riders Championship.
Since deciding to hang his boots up, Ashley has successfully turned his sights to training point-to-point winners in the South West and the results speak for themselves. The yard can boast one of the highest win to run percentages in the region for point-to-pointing.
Every effort is made to ensure that the horses run to the best of their ability and the owners enjoy the experience of having a racehorse in training with us.
The experienced team here at Coldharbour is small and we are dedicated to getting the right results - in the yard, each horse has individual care. Attention to detail and the horse’s welfare are top priorities for us.
