Approximately 3 Billion Years Ago The Isle of Lewis (pronounced Lews) was the Birth Place Of The British Isles. The first bed rock to appear of the British Isles as the sea's subsided, was the Isle of Lewis (Lewisian Rock).Testimony to this are the Standing Stones at Calanias dating back some 5000 years, which pre date the Pyramids and Stonehenge.
Gaelic is spoken alongside English, and Eagles live alongside Otters and people. The contrast of the ages and cultures is experienced all over the isles of Lewis and Harris (The Isles of Lewis and Harris are one isle) in the towns and out in the hills and mountains. In the summer months local people on the Isle can still be seen cutting the peat's and in the winter, the distinctive dry smell of the peat fire drifts in the wind.
The Western Isles culture remains very strong, particularly in its religious beliefs. Sundays remain a very special day, and many people observe strict compliance to the Free Church traditional values. Sunday remains a day for contemplation and the family, with mainly only the most necessary of businesses and organizations being required to work.

workshop reflecting life on the Isle of Lewis, Quality, Stress less and above,
all timeless. The items are both classic and stylish and will be the envy of

They are all Unique, primarily most items are produced using Exotic Woods from all around the globe, however I do a range of goods for the Country Sports person, Commissioned items produced using Deer Antler (possibly from a stag you shot with a below standard head but you would like a memento of it, supply the antler when your item is commissioned, the instruments are fitted with 24k Gold Sporting Fittings e.g. a Rifle, Fish, or Fishing Rod with hooked fish. As I have already said a wonderful memento and a very Unique Gift due to the fact they are handmade and in
most cases Commissioned to specific order. All items supplied in a presentation box from a range of either wood, in various styles and woods to velvet or leather type to a very stylish clear Perspex box. all items I produce come with a lifetime guaranty .

A small friendly company producing some 2000 different handmade items both standard produced and privately commissioned from a full range of Writing Instruments and Clocks.
A.S.KeeperUK was founded by Arthur Stephenson. Arthur a fully qualified Game Keeper/Stalker. Born in Knowsley Prescot Lancashire UK in 1955, served in H.M.Forces in the Household Cavalry The Blues and Royals (RHG/D) for 12 years, served in Ireland, Germany, and Cyprus .In 1999 gained a University Qualification In Game and Wildlife Management, Land Management. Arthur has also had the opportunity to have a book of poetry published by one of America's leading publishers, Publish America, The book entitled On Love's Wings I come To You - Capture the Stars.
While crafting writing instruments for a hobby and found the items produced where finding them selves going all over the world from America to Australia. In 2000 Arthur started putting the foundations down for turning a hobby into a company, since then production has grown and grown. The items produced at A.S.KeeperUK are produced to the highest quality, the items are all handmade, crafted in my workshop, the pens include, Fountain pens, Roller Ball pens, Gel pens, Magnifying Glasses and Letter Openers. They are mainly bespoke, commissioned items, although there is a range of ready made items, in various materials e.g. wood, acrylic, acetate, Corian (DuPont), Rock, Sand and Heather from the Isle of Lewis. They are a fine writing instrument that you will treasure and find a pleasure to use. The items are normally personal to you, therefore Unique, ranging from Corporate, Executive Desk sets, His and Hers pen sets, Wedding, gifts to a more specific item. Items produced with the accent on Country Sports, hunting, fishing, customised using Deer antler or custom clips, rifle, fishing, rod, golf club, and so on.
The items produced by A.S.KeeperUK are not for putting away in a drawer, they have been turned on a precision lathe using the best materials that I could source from around the globe, every pen and pencil made is for the enjoyment of writing as well as looking beautiful for many years. Follow some of these basic tips and I am sure you will be delighted with your purchase and hopefully refer my name to others.
Please do not expose your pen or pencil to extremes of HOT and COLD temperatures as this may affect the finish etc.. Some woods are sensitive to heat and splits or cracks may develop.
Harsh cleaning fluids or abrasive substances should not be used at any cost, as all items undergo may stages of sanding and polishing they may damage the fine finish !
Only use a good quality wood paste or spray that you would be happy to use on any fine wooden furniture. If using a spray, only spray onto the cloth not directly onto the pen. Gently buff the pen to restore the lustre with a soft, clean cloth.
The items can be produced using a variety of fittings, Gold 24kt plate. (Platinum) Rhodium, TN, Satin, Black Enamel. All presented in a gift box with a detailed leaflet informing you about the particular wood or material used.

You have the right to cancel your purchase from this site within seven days of your order and if you do so, your payment will be returned in full. Unless Specialmaterials or items have been ordered or purchased at your request to produce a commission then the balance shall be refunded in full.
All my hand-crafted writing instruments are covered by a guarantee / warranty, all items are guaranteed for life both for workmanship and materials providing the item has not had to stand up to any stress, such as being left on the car dashboard in high temperatures for example.
Guarantee does not cover ink refills or pencil leads which deplete through normal use, however, extra refills and leads can be purchased from myself or from most good stationary shops.
Defects do not include bark incursions, voids or other naturally occurring effects in woods and other natural materials, I class these as adding natural beauty and uniqueness to your handmade item, errors in production enhance the items uniqueness, by definition "handmade" means similar items can differ due to production methods.
If you should accidentally damage your pen, I will be pleased to carry out a repair at a small cost to you, or in curtain cases replace the pen at 50% of the initial value, or give a generous discount on any new commission or item I have for sale.
Warranty / Guarantee may become void if after close inspection the writing instrument is found to have become damaged through stress or neglect, instead of normal use. Please refer to my care leaflets and care documentation for tips on caring and looking after your new instrument.
