Heather goes forth thanks to micro buy out.
Heather Ale, founded by brothers Scott and Bruce
Williams in 1992, has had worldwide success with
beers like Fraoch, Alba, and Kelpie, brewed with
ingredients including heather, spruce needles
and even seaweed.
Now the company has outgrown its current base a
picturesque 18th-century watermill at Strathaven,
Lanarkshire, and has bought the Forth Brewery
in Alloa for a six-figure sum. At the same time it
has changed its name to Williams Brothers.
